The Buffalo Sabres snapped two streaks in two games. Can they snap the Devils eight-game road winning streak? Here are the odds.

The Buffalo Sabres have been busy snapping streaks. On Tuesday night, the Sabres wreaked havoc and snapped their eight-game losing streak. They returned home and channeled their inner-championship caliber ghosts via the goathead and snapped the mighty St. Louis Blues seven-game winning streak.

Now, the Sabres can snap the Devils eight-game winning streak on the road. If they do this, then you can call it a three-peat in terms of streak-snapping. But how likely is it to happen? Here are the odds and a prediction.

Buffalo Sabres vs. Devils – Odds

Per Fan Duel, the Buffalo Sabres are +1.5 underdogs at home against the Devils. The Over/Under is 6.5, and the Sabres moneyline is +146. The Devils moneyline is -178.

Buffalo Sabres vs. Devils – Prediction

It is premature to sit here and claim the Sabres are getting hot, having won just two games following an eight-game losing streak and a 4-8-0 record since Halloween Night. And the Devils had their 13-game winning streak snapped because of three disallowed goals against the Toronto Maple Leafs (who else would get all the calls?).

That said, you can put a little asterisk next to the Devils snapped winning streak as they were the better team than Toronto. If you watch the three overturned goals, there is a strong case to argue against two of those reversed calls.

So the Sabres can snap an eight-game road winning streak AND they can truly snap the Devils 13-game winning streak fair and square. But as I said, the Devils outplayed the Leafs, and they will also outplay the Sabres.

Therefore, I am going to go with the Devils here, but I can also see the Sabres keeping pace with their rejuvenated high-octane approach. Jersey takes it 6-4 in this one, icing the game on an empty-netter.
