The Buffalo Sabres are coming off a solid week, and they hope to keep things rolling as they invade Columbus, Ohio in a tilt with the Blue Jackets.

The Buffalo Sabres finished a tough week at 2-1-1, having knocked off one division rival and nearly knocking off another. Their only blemish came against the Colorado Avalanche, thanks to suffering through one bad period.

They finished the week on a high note in a big win over the San Jose Sharks. Tonight, the Blue and Gold will face a team of a similar caliber in the Columbus Blue Jackets, and it is a game many are saying the Sabres will take. Let’s check out the odds.

Buffalo Sabres vs. Blue Jackets Odds – Game 26

Per Fan Duel, the Buffalo Sabres are -1.5 favorites over the Blue Jackets. The Over/Under is 6.5, and the Sabres hold a -132 moneyline. The moneyline for the Blue Jackets is +110.

Buffalo Sabres vs. Blue Jackets Prediction – Game 26

This is a team that, since their eight-game losing streak, has scored 4.85 goals per game, so the only way I can see the Sabres losing is if Columbus outscores them. Unfortunately for the Jackets, they have averaged just 2.2 per game in that same span.

Columbus has also allowed 2.8 goals since the 22nd, but against the high-octane Sabres, it will be tough for them to keep the Blue and Gold under three goals. That said, look for Buffalo to snag this one in a 5-3 win, where someone, perhaps Victor Olofsson, assuming he plays, sinks the empty-netter and the Sabres return to the Queen City with the W.

This will set the stage nicely for their upcoming back to back against the Pittsburgh Penguins toward the end of the week. If the Sabres can ride that momentum and score at least one W against the Penguins, it will work wonders for where they stand in the Atlantic if a couple teams ahead of them cool down.
