Buffalo Sabres fans give their thoughts on how the team is progressing 30 games into the 2022-23 season. Here are the top responses.
Out of the responses I received, all of them were positive when it comes to the overall feeling of the team. To start with Tage Thompson, the doubts about his extension have quickly been erased. In 29 games played this season, Tage has 23 goals and 21 assists. What he is doing this year is absolutely amazing and he is only going to get better.
The young guys are also performing good as well. Particularly the “Kid Line” featuring Dylan Cozens, JJ Peterka, and Jack Quinn. They are producing extremely well and are making opponents fear the Buffalo Sabres top six.
As for the goaltending, I couldn’t agree more. Buffalo’s goaltending was going to be the biggest question mark going into the season and still is the biggest need for the Sabres in my opinion.
Once again, the young guns are performing extremely well. It’s refreshing to see them living up to expectations after what the fans have seen the last decade or so. The best part is, the Sabres have more talent in the pipeline which is great to see.
Buffalo Sabres goaltenders remain a huge question mark
Another goaltending response. Aside from Craig Anderson, who has been solid all season, Buffalo has been having issues with other goaltenders such as Eric Comrie and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen. Comrie has been out for a while with an injury and UPL has not performed like fans and management have hoped.
I’m not sure who can be available for a trade but assuming UPL gets sent back down once Comrie comes back, I would love for Kevyn Adams to try and acquire a goalie.
Yep once again, the fans are starting to realize how good the young talent is on this team. After what fans saw with just Sam Reinhart and Jack Eichel, it’s refreshing to see the younger plays on this team having an impact.
Staying healthy on the blue line has been Buffalo’s biggest issue this year. You can tell how much of a difference they are playing when Mattias Samuelsson is in the lineup. I would love to add Jakob Chychrun to this team. I think he can help out the blue line in a huge way.
I have always been a fan of Boone Jenner as well. Jenner would make a solid addition to the depth and would be a good mentor as well for the younger guys.
Overall, the feeling is good surrounding this Buffalo Sabres team. This current team is so much better to watch compared to the last decade and hopefully this team can push itself for a playoff spot.
