Despite the 4-3 loss, the Buffalo Sabres saw a couple of players approach some milestones in Rasmus Dahlin and Alex Tuch.

The Buffalo Sabres may be on a two game losing streak, but hey, even the best teams in the NHL are going to lose two straight every now and again. Such is life when you play an 82 game season.

Despite the loss, the Sabres at least looked way better than they did against the Philadelphia Flyers, who somehow managed to shut them out. The Blue and Gold not only looked better against the Kraken, but two of their key scorers this season also tied some career highs, and barring some unforeseen incident, will shatter them in the coming games.

Alex Tuch scored two goals, including one in with 21.4 seconds remaining in regulation, giving the Sabres a chance to launch the NHL’s version of a Hail Mary. While it didn’t happen, the aforementioned goal gave Tuch his 20th of the season, matching his career high from 2018-19, when he scored 52 points.

Tuch, Dahlin, match career highs with the Buffalo Sabres

Rasmus Dahlin scored on an ultra-fast power play goal last night, giving the Sabres a 2-1 lead in the second frame. The recent Third Star of the Week sunk his 13th goal of the year, something that took him nearly 80 games to hit last season.

Dahlin is also approaching his career high in points. Having scored 46 to date, he is just eight away from the milestone. Given the way he has played this season, you can expect to see Dahlin crush his 53-point career high.

light. Must Read. There is absolutely no quit in the Buffalo Sabres

As for Tuch, his career high sits at 52 points, and he is just eight away from reaching his new milestone. And with the Buffalo Sabres having such a busy stretch of games, I have no doubt that this duo will reach those milestones by the All-Star Break.
