The Buffalo Sabres will look to get back on track tonight at home against the Winnipeg Jets. Can they end their two game skid?

The Buffalo Sabres have lost back-to-back games, something that hasn’t been incredibly common this season. But even the best teams will lose multiple contests in a row, so we at Sabre Noise aren’t panicking just yet.

However, we wouldn’t mind seeing a sense of urgency here, and it should kick off tonight against the mighty Winnipeg Jets. But what are the odds that a win occurs? Keep reading for more.

Buffalo Sabres vs. Jets Odds – Game 40

Per Fan Duel, the Buffalo Sabres are +1.5 underdogs at home against the Jets. The Over/Under is 6.5, and the Sabres moneyline is +112. The Jets moneyline is -134.

Buffalo Sabres vs. Jets Prediction – Game 40

The Sabres must find their rhythm if they want to win this one. Your high-scoring Blue and Gold saw themselves on the wrong end of a shutout on Monday before a bad half-period cost them on Tuesday. In both games, they averaged just 1.5 goals.

Now, they will face one of the best defensive teams in the NHL. The Jets are fourth in goals allowed, sitting at just 110 on the season. They are also second in the Central Division with 53 points, just three behind the Central-leading Dallas Stars.

Therefore, expect to see the Jets play with sense of urgency themselves. But the Sabres, whose scoring over the past two games has been null, will have a tough time taking this one, so I’m giving it to Winnipeg in a low-scoring, 3-1 affair.

The Sabres skid continues into Saturday, where they will play the Nashville Predators, while the Jets seize an opportunity to inch closer to the Stars in the Central Division race. So if the Sabres lose this one, should you panic?

Let’s shy away from the panic button at this point, but the sense of urgency to turn things around will be at its highest since November 2022. And approaching midseason, that urgency may even be a little higher.
