The Buffalo Sabres face the Chicago Blackhawks tonight, a team they’ve enjoyed some good luck against over the past year.
The Buffalo Sabres may have struggled over the past week, but if there is one upside in facing the Chicago Blackhawks, it’s that they always find ways to win. Who can forget their epic comeback last season after falling behind 4-0 early? Or their overtime win during Rick Jeannerets’s final broadcast? Or yet another big comeback win earlier this season?
Games against Chicago are those you just can’t turn off even if the Sabres fell behind by seven goals with five minutes left. So does that mean an easy win tonight? Let’s check out the odds.
Buffalo Sabres vs. Blackhawks Odds – Game 43
Per Fan Duel, the Buffalo Sabres are -1.5 favorites on the road against the Blackhawks. The Over/Under is 6.5 and the Sabres moneyline is -178. The Blackhawks moneyline is +146
Buffalo Sabres vs. Blackhawks Prediction – Game 43
The Sabres have lost four out of their last five and their scoring has been virtually nonexistent, with only their five-goal outing against Nashville serving as an outlier. In their four losses since last Monday, the Blue and Gold have mustered just six goals, averaging 1.5 per game in that stretch.
Against Chicago, I’m saying the same thing happens throughout the first two periods, and the Sabres will fall behind 3-1 after 40. But in typical Sabres fashion against the Blackhawks, they will get the sticks going in the third put put up four goals, including one with the net empty to tie the game late, evening the contest at 4-4.
In the closing minutes, the Sabres will score on last time and once again, pull off yet another strange win, leaving the Blackhawks and their fans stunned. Who’s going to score the game winner? Why not go with the hot hand of Alex Tuch?
