Buffalo Sabres: Tyson Jost continues to be a pleasant surprise
As the 2022-23 season wears on, Tyson Jost continues to be a pleasant surprise for the Buffalo Sabres, and odds are, he’ll keep improving.
Tyson Jost was going into this season with the Minnesota Wild. In 12 games played with Minnesota, Jost had no goals and three assists. Things were not going well for Tyson and he was placed on waivers in November by Minnesota and was picked up by Buffalo.
In his first game with the team, he endured himself to his new teammates by getting into a fight. At that moment, fans and teammates knew he was going to take advantage of this fresh start. Ever since being claimed by the Sabres, the 10th overall pick in the 2016 NHL Draft has shown out to be a pretty solid pickup by general manager Kevyn Adams.
Tyson Jost continues to impress the Buffalo Sabres
When he was claimed by Buffalo, Jost only had three points. Now, he has 13 points on the season. Ever since joining the team, he has scored four goals and registered 6 assists in 25 games played with the Blue and Gold. On a team who has tons of young talent, Jost has definitely been an improving player on this roster.
We all know how good the top six is for the Sabres, but Jost is a great depth piece. He has found some good chemistry with linemates Victor Olofsson and Casey Mittelstadt, giving the Sabres a boost when it comes to depth on the roster.
As Sabres fans have know for awhile, they are used to watching a team who has one good line and everyone is average. This season, they have a very talented top six and a hardworking bottom six, which includes Jost. Even though we don’t know what the future holds, it seems like this claim by Buffalo has worked out well so far.
