The Buffalo Sabres are coming off of a solid week, but a looming match with one of the Western Division’s best will test them.

The Buffalo Sabres square off with the Dallas Stars in what will be a pivotal matchup for the Blue and Gold. With just five points separating the Sabres from the second wild card spot in the Eastern Conference, every game must count and they have little margin for error.

Luckily for them, this game takes place on the road, where they have played well so far. The Sabres also play to their competition on most nights, so this game may be a bit more interesting than some think.

Buffalo Sabres vs. Stars Odds – Game 46

Per Fan Duel, the Buffalo Sabres are +1.5 underdogs at home against the Stars. The Over/Under is 6.5, and the Sabres moneyline is +146. The Stars moneyline is -176.

Buffalo Sabres vs. Stars Prediction – Game 46

As it stands, the Stars are the best team in the Western Conference with 63 points. But again, don’t count the Sabres out. This is a team that has scored road wins against the Vegas Golden Knights (60 points), Boston Bruins (78 points), Washington Capitals (56 points), and the Edmonton Oilers (57 points).

Since the Sabres often bring out their best game on the road, they will at least keep this one close. While they seemed to have rediscovered their offensive prowess, it is hard to envision this team winning tonight. But I have no doubt they can force overtime and at least skate away from Dallas with a point.

However, given their ability to win big on the road against some of the NHL’s best teams, it should surprise no one if the Blue and Gold came out and pulled off the upset. So for the final score, I’m going to say they lose it 5-4. But again, don’t be surprised if they find a way to score late and hold off a strong Dallas team.
