The Buffalo Sabres manhandled the St. Louis Blues at home earlier this season. Can they do the same on the road? Let’s discuss.

The Buffalo Sabres just came off of a big win over the Dallas Stars, notching them another W against the best team in a respective conference, this time, the West. It was a contest where the Blue and Gold looked lost early on, but the game’s First Star, Craig Anderson, kept them in, allowing the Sabres to sneak away with the W.

Tonight, they face the St. Louis Blues in a back-to-back, a team they crushed in November by a score of 6-2. That game, ironically enough, also occurred on a back-to-back, so the Sabres have recent history on their side here.

The difference? They were playing at the KeyBank Center, so will flying from Dallas to St. Louis put them behind the eight-ball? Once again, recent history is on their side, as the Sabres are 13-7-1 on the road so far in 2022-23.

Buffalo Sabres vs. Blues Odds – Game 47

Per Fan Duel, the Buffalo Sabres are +1.5 underdogs on the road against the Blues. The Over/Under is 6.5, and the Sabres moneyline is +106. The Blues moneyline is -128.

Buffalo Sabres vs. Blues Prediction – Game 47

The Sabres might play good hockey on the road, but a back-to-back on the road is a tough challenge for even the best teams, especially when they needed to go the extra mile to win in Dallas. But they also got it together as the evening wore on, indicating that could carry over into tonight.

Either way, I don’t foresee the Sabres going on a scoring clinic in this one like they did the last time they faced the Blues two months ago. Look for yet another defensive struggle that may once again go into the extra period.

Must Read. Don’t count the Sabres out of the playoff race just yet. light

But with momentum at their backs, and the Blues coming off a 5-3 loss at home against the Chicago Blackhawks, I’m giving the Sabres the benefit of the doubt here. The Blue (and Gold) take it, 4-3.
