The Buffalo Sabres can prove themselves tonight against Carolina
The Buffalo Sabres will be back in action tonight as they will face the Carolina Hurricanes, and this will be a huge outing for the Blue and Gold.
Before the All Star break, the Buffalo Sabres will be hosting the Carolina Hurricanes. It will be a tough test as Carolina is one of the best teams in the NHL. But as for the Sabres, a win will put them in a playoff spot.
Yes you read that right. If Buffalo wins tonight, they will be in a playoff spot in February. It’s crazy to think that the Buffalo Sabres are in the running for a postseason spot, but that’s exactly the case. It won’t be easy however as they will face one of the powerhouses of the NHL.
Carolina will be facing Buffalo on the second half of a back to back. But even though they may be tired, they are still a very dangerous team. The Sabres haven’t played a game since last Saturday so they will be well rested for this very good Hurricanes team.
As for the game itself, this will be a huge opportunity for the Sabres to prove themselves. As Buffalo fans know, this team has beaten some of the best teams in the league this year. However, Carolina is another hurdle. The last time Buffalo saw Carolina, the Hurricanes defeated the Sabres 5-3 back in November.
A Buffalo Sabres win tonight against Carolina would be huge
If the Sabres want to make the playoffs and possibly make a run, there’s a very good chance Carolina could be a team that Buffalo sees. Buffalo needs to be ready for Carolina tomorrow night. In their last game against Minnesota, the Sabres played amazing even though they lost the outing.
They need to bring that same energy against the Hurricanes. At this current moment, the Hurricanes are 32-9-8 and were at home last night against the Los Angeles Kings. Regardless of the result, Carolina is a stacked team and will present a huge challenge for Buffalo.
Like I said before, the Sabres can beat the better teams of the NHL. If they can play the brand of Sabres hockey that we know, then it’s definitely possible Buffalo will head into the All Star break in a playoff spot after beating one of the best teams in the NHL.
