Buffalo Sabres vs. Blue Jackets Prediction and Odds – Game 59
The Buffalo Sabres have been red-hot lately, and with the Columbus Blue Jackets in town, they have a much weaker opponent.
On paper, this should be an easy game for the Buffalo Sabres, as the Columbus Blue Jackets are one of the worst teams in the NHL. But after coming off of three big wins, including a seven-goal onslaught against the Washington Capitals, games like these can be infamous trap games.
So the Sabres need to put their best foot forward in this one, because the Blue Jackets will be enjoying their new role as spoiler, Connor Bedard sweepstakes or not. So what are the odds that Buffalo pulls this one out? Let’s discuss.
Buffalo Sabres vs. Blue Jackets Odds – Game 59
Per Fan Duel, the Buffalo Sabres are -1.5 favorites at home against the Blue Jackets. The Over/Under is 6.5, and the Sabres moneyline is -215. The Blue Jackets moneyline is +176.
Buffalo Sabres vs. Blue Jackets Prediction – Game 59
The last time these two teams met, the Sabres put up nine goals on the Blue Jackets, and Tage Thompson had the game of his life with not one, not two, not three, but five goals in that affair. While it’s farfetched that the Sabres will go out and hang nine on the Blue Jackets this time, they theoretically should have no trouble against Columbus.
Look for Buffalo to score early in this one and build a solid lead like they did in their 7-4 win against Washington. Only this time around, they should hold Columbus to under four goals. With that being said, the Sabres cannot look ahead to their next two games, the first against the Boston Bruins before they head back home for yet another physical affair with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
So look for the Sabres to take this one, but only if they focus on the present and worry little about yet another gauntlet coming their way. My projection: Sabres 6, Blue Jackets 3.
