The Buffalo Sabres have struggled through their last two contests without Alex Tuch and Rasmus Dahlin. And things get no easier vs. Tampa.
The Buffalo Sabres are missing Rasmus Dahlin and Alex Tuch. Not only did they let what should have been an easy win vs. the Columbus Blue Jackets slip away this past Tuesday, bad strategy turned what was an otherwise manageable game into a 7-1 blowout loss to the Boston Bruins.
Now the Sabres get to play the Tampa Bay Lightning, a team they upset in overtime about a week and a half ago. In that game, however, they had Dahlin and Tuch, which made life a lot easier. But without two of their three best players on the ice for this one, in their home arena, might I add, do the Sabres even have a chance? Let’s look at the odds.
Buffalo Sabres vs. Lightning Odds – Game 61
Per Fan Duel, the Buffalo Sabres are +1.5 underdogs at home against the Lightning. The Over/Under is 6.5, and the Sabres moneyline is +146. The Lightning’s moneyline is -178.
Buffalo Sabres vs. Lightning Prediction – Game 61
This is going to be yet another tough one to overcome, and considering how poorly the Sabres have played over their last two games, and how poorly they’ve played overall at home, it’s hard to envision them beating a team like the Lightning. This is yet another contest where Buffalo would be lucky to escape with a point if they can take things into overtime.
Once Dahlin and Tuch are back in the lineup, along with the additions of Jordan Greenway and Riley Stillman thanks to Kevyn Adams getting active toward this season’s trade deadline, the Sabres are in position to make a run. But don’t be disappointed when it doesn’t happen today.
Better days are right around the corner for the Sabres. So keep that in mind when you’re watching this one in case it gets out of hand.
