The Buffalo Sabres kick off a gauntlet of a week against the Edmonton Oilers, and it’s going to be a tough one for the Blue and Gold.

The Buffalo Sabres are in playoff contention, and given as young as they are, this team might be contending for quite some time. That’s assuming they stay healthy and can stick together over the next five to seven seasons, but they can sneak in as a wild card as early as 2023 if they can score a few more upset wins.

The Edmonton Oilers are one of a few tough teams Buffalo is going to have to beat. And with two of the league’s best scorers in Edmonton, this won’t be an easy affair for the Sabres. So what are the odds they score a big win in this one? Keep reading to find out.

Buffalo Sabres vs. Oilers Odds – Game 62

Per Fan Duel, the Buffalo Sabres are +1.5 underdogs at home against the Oilers. The Over/Under is 7, and the Sabres moneyline is +132. The Oilers moneyline is -160.

Buffalo Sabres vs. Oilers Prediction – Game 62

The Sabres are a mystery this season, thanks to scoring big victories against the Washington Capitals and the Tampa Bay Lightning at home, yet they found a way to lose to the Columbus Blue Jackets. It also indicates though, that the Sabres may once again be playing to their competition, something they were notorious for earlier in 2023.

Therefore, I’m going out on a limb and predicting the Blue and Gold at least hang strong and skate away from this one with a point if they can’t figure out how to overcome the just as high-octane Oilers. This will at least give Buffalo some momentum heading into their tilt against the New York Islanders tomorrow night, and it’s the game many fans are looking forward to.

So given the way the Sabres have played tough teams at home lately, sans that embarrassing loss a couple weeks back to the Toronto Maple Leafs, they’re getting a point here. Maybe even two.
