The Buffalo Sabres face off against the Nashville Predators in a matchup where both teams are coming off of blowout losses. Can Buffalo redeem themselves?

Things have been ultra-rough for the Buffalo Sabres. They’ve scored two meaningless goals over the past two contests, and have allowed 12 of them. The goaltending has not been good, the defensive has been worse, and opponents have figured out how to stop Buffalo.

The upside in all this? Well, at least there’s Devon Levi to look forward to. While Levi won’t debut until at least next week, barring anything unforeseen, the Levi Watch definitely gives fans a reason to tune in.

But, given the Nashville Predators recent struggles, you might want to check things out tonight. How will the game shake out? Here are the odds and a prediction.

Buffalo Sabres vs. Predators Odds – Game 70

Per Fan Duel, the Buffalo Sabres are -1.5 favorites at home against the Predators. The Over/Under is 6.5, and the Sabres moneyline is -142. The Predators moneyline is +118.

Buffalo Sabres vs. Predators Prediction – Game 70

In my bold predictions piece, I stated the Sabres would come out and win this one in convincing fashion. And yes, I’m standing by what I said.

Sooner or later, Buffalo has got to break out of this late-season slump. Sure, their playoff hopes are all but dashed, but ironically, that should revert them into being the high-octane team whose defense often did just enough for the group to walk away with narrow wins.

There is really no more pressure to feel here, so I’m expecting the Sabres to play with more reckless abandon tonight. You won’t see so much overthinking, hesitancy, or them forcing passes.

Instead, it will be enough solid hockey to win this one 5-2 (see bold predictions piece), and it could also set the stage for our final 12 games. And, of course, they will be one step closer to Devon Levi’s first game, whenever that debut may commence.
