Buffalo Sabres: Predictions for the second half of February 2024

After a so-so projected first half of February, Zach breaks down what the Buffalo Sabres second half of the month might look like.

After a projected average first half of February, the Buffalo Sabres will have five games remaining in the month. After the Anaheim Ducks come to town, the Sabres will head out for a two game road trip. Up first, they will be in Montreal for a matchup against the Canadiens.

In a game that will be decided either in overtime or a shootout, I have the Sabres taking this one. They will then travel to Columbus. Once again, I have Buffalo getting the two points. The Sabres will have one home game before heading out onto the road.

They will welcome a very tough team as the Carolina Hurricanes will be in Buffalo. After a mini winning streak, i think the Sabres will lose this matchup. To conclude the month, Buffalo will be heading to Florida for a couple of divisional games.

Buffalo Sabres end February 2024 with an Atlantic Division road trip

Up first, they will be in Sunrise as they take on the Panthers. Florida is a very good team and I predict them to beat Buffalo. Then, it’s onto Tampa Bay. The Sabres overall will have an average month of February as they will lose this one as well.

As we enter the final two months of the 2023-24 season, Buffalo is still in good shape. I know I have them coming back down to Earth, but as I stated in my last article, every team hits a time where they cool off a bit.

The good news is I have them at 71 points and that is usually a team in a playoff spot. Even though the Eastern Conference is tough, I still believe Buffalo will be in the thick of things until the very end.

Where they will be standings wise is to be determined but you have to be thrilled with where they are at this point of the season as the chase for the playoffs will start to intensify.
