Buffalo Sabres 75 Bold Predictions for 2023-24: Prediction 39

The Buffalo Sabres have nearly a dozen-and-a-half theme nights for 2023-24, along with 15 contests when they will don the iconic Goatheads.
Two days ago, the Buffalo Sabres announced 17 different theme nights for the 2023-24 season, with all four Winterfest nights plus the Home Opener counted into that total. They also announced that the Goathead would return to the ice 15 times, and yes, they are pairing their iconic jersey with a few of those theme nights.
I also went bold with how many times the Blue and Gold (or Black and Red) will win in those Goatheads. But today, with Bold Prediction #39, I’m taking things a step further, and projecting that the Sabres will win each game in which they pair the Goathead jersey with a theme night.
Buffalo Sabres earn a W when they match the Goathead with a theme night
So which jerseys are the Sabres matching with theme nights? When the Sabres announced their theme night schedule, we found out that the Back in Black and Red Night on October 21st vs. the New York Islanders would mark their season debut. They will also wear them again on October 29th – Hockey Halloween, vs. the Colorado Avalanche, so chalk up another W in the win column there.
They will also wear them for two of the four Winterfest nights, once against the Columbus Blue Jackets, and again vs. the perpetual thorn in the side, the Boston Bruins, so we’ll give them another pair of W’s there. And finally, they will wear them again on April 2nd vs. the Washington Capitals for Dyngus Night, giving our Sabres a total of five wins when the Goatheads match the theme.

Overall, each of the games listed above are all more than winnable, with the tilt vs. the Avalanche acting as the toughest. And again, these bold predictions may not line up exactly with my actual month-by-month predictions, since the bold ones are, well, bold. So keep that difference in mind when you are reading those more realistic projections and articles like these.
