It’s time for Zach’s predictions of how the Buffalo Sabres will fare in the second half of March 2024. Is he projecting them for playoff contention?

Following a projected solid first half of March, I’m predicting the Buffalo Sabres will fight to break the playoff drought. To start off the second half, they will have a four game road trip in Western Canada. Before heading into Canada, they will take on the Seattle Kraken.

After not beating the Kraken, I think the Sabres finally beat Seattle. The next night, they will face off against the Vancouver Canucks. Even on a second half of a back to back, I see Buffalo getting the two points in this one as well.

They will have a day off before taking on the Oilers in Edmonton. In this game, I got the Sabres falling in this one. To close out the road trip, Buffalo will battle the Calgary Flames. They will win this one either in overtime or a shootout.

How will the Buffalo Sabres fare in the back half of March 2024?

Closing out the month of March, Buffalo will have a three game homestand. Up first, the Ottawa Senators. I see Ottawa taking this one, but they will need more than 60 minutes. Their final two games will be a back to back against two very good teams.

The New Jersey Devils will be next and I got the Sabres falling once again in this one. For the final game in March, Buffalo will welcome in their most hated rival for a Saturday night showdown as the Toronto Maple Leafs come to town.

This game will be electric and fun to watch as the hometown fans will see their team winning this one. Entering the final month of the season, the Sabres will have 89 points on the year. They will definitely be in the thick of things as they will look to end the longest playoff drought in the NHL. It should be a fun and interesting race and this is exactly what you want to see if you’re a Sabres fan.

  • Second Half of March Record: 4-2-1
  • Overall Record: 41-27-7 (89 points)
