In Part VI of Games Buffalo Sabres Fans Must Look Forward To, Zach talks about why he’s excited for the Buffalo Sabres final game of March 2024.
There are a lot of games to choose from in the month of March. In total, the Buffalo Sabres will have 15 games. The game I’m looking forward to is the final game in March as the Sabres will host the Toronto Maple Leafs.
As I do with every article I wrote in this miniseries, there’s a couple of reasons why I’m looking forward to this matchup. First and foremost, it’s always fun when Toronto and Buffalo get together regardless of how each team is doing.
Buffalo Sabres could be involved in a classic battle with Toronto in March
It will also be the second time the Sabres and Maple Leafs will see each other in March as they will have seen each other in Toronto back in early March. As I mentioned earlier, it doesn’t matter how either team is doing. Whenever they play each other, the hatred remains the same.
Each team is loaded with talent. Toronto has Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, William Nylander, and Morgan Rielly. Buffalo has Tage Thompson, Alex Tuch, Dylan Cozens, and Rasmus Dahlin. The talent each team has is super strong and it will be fun to see what happens.
The main reason why I’m looking forward to this game is what could be at stake for both teams. We know the Maple Leafs will be in the postseason but as for the Buffalo Sabres, it could mean so much more for them.
Plus this game will be in Buffalo. I know the Sabres had the ticket restrictions but if Maple Leafs fans somehow get in, it will be an epic matchup of fans. The rivalry is more intense when the games are in Buffalo because of the fans. But if this game means something for the Sabres which it should be with April up next, this is a game they cannot lose and if they did win, it would come against their most hated rival.
