On this edition of Buffalo Sabres fans mailbag, Zach went on Facebook and asked fans to describe the Sabres in one word. Here are the responses.

With the Buffalo Sabres season approaching, it’s time for a new edition of Sabres Fans Mailbag. Sara Civian, a well known writer in the hockey world, had an article that was one word about an NHL team.

So it gave me an idea. For my next mailbag article, I went to Facebook and asked Sabres fans their overall feeling on the team or one word to describe Buffalo. I got some interesting responses and here are my reactions to each of them.

How are Buffalo Sabres fans feeling about the team this year?

“Steadfast” – Alex Rae

Yeah for the first time in a long time, there seems to be a strong belief in the team from the fanbase. When was the last time there was an actual feeling of hope surrounding the team? The last two years have been promising and hopefully it continues this year.

“Exciting” – Dee J.

Again, the excitement surrounding the Sabres has never been this high in awhile. Even more than the years when they drafted Sam Reinhart and Jack Eichel. After seeing how far the Sabres have come, I’m very excited for this season.

“Talented” – Todd E. and Michelle R.

They are very talented. Not only is the the NHL roster talented, but the prospect system is as well. But it feels good to have talent all around the team rather than one or two players carrying the load.

“Hope” – Kevin L.

I touched on it already but with how close they were to making the playoffs last year, they showed the fanbase that these are not your old Sabres. This group could be something special and hopefully making the postseason this year is the start.

“Pumped” – Aaron W.

This ties into my last response. As heartbreaking as it was, this team was in it until the last week of the regular season. They finally gave fans reasons to be excited, pumped, etc. It just feels different with this team.

“Rejuvenated” – Joseph J.

There is a new sense of energy, not only for the team but as the fanbase as well. Going into this season, there’s a new level of excitement for the Sabres and it’s so great to see after what this fanbase has gone through the last decade or so.
