Before their third game of the season, the Buffalo Sabres made a couple of lineup changes. Here are the updates on who’s in and who’s out.

As we head into Week 2 of the Buffalo Sabres 2023-24 season, the team is still looking to get their first win of the season. Tonight marks the start of a four-game homestand for the team as they will welcome in the Tampa Bay Lightning who will be without forward Steven Stamkos.

For the Sabres, it didn’t take long to make some changes to the lineup. However, it feels like they need to do something in order to not go 0-3-0. Tyson Jost will be making his season debut tonight as he will take the place of Victor Olofsson.

Jost will be on a line with Kyle Okposo and Zemgus Girgensons just like last year and I think it’s the right move. For the last year or so, it seems like Olofsson is the odd man out among the fanbase, and for good reason.

When he’s on his game, he can score goals, and he has a great shot. But for some reason, he will go the longest time without scoring goals. I thought he would have been traded over the Summer but I think with Jack Quinn getting hurt, it seemed like he was safe.

Another lineup change is Peyton Krebs. During the morning skate, he was on a line with Dylan Cozens and JJ Peterka. This is a great chance for Krebs to show he can be a difference-maker with the team.

Peyton has shown the team and fans he can be a physical player who is not afraid to throw his body around or get in a fight. But now, it’s his chance to show he can put up points. I like this move a lot and like I said earlier, it felt like there had to be some kind of change. You can catch the game on ESPN at 7:30 and Devon Levi is expected to be the starter once again.
