The Buffalo Sabres will face quite a few challenges in Week 8. Here is what is in store for them, starting with a rough game to kick things off.

In Week 7 of the NHL regular season, the Buffalo Sabres went 1-1-1. They lost a heartbreaker in overtime against the Washington Capitals despite having the lead late. After Thanksgiving, Buffalo hosted the Pittsburgh Penguins for a Black Friday showdown.

Even though the Sabres were trailing 2-0 heading into the third, they scored three unanswered goals and won a thrilling game on home ice. Unfortunately for them, they would get blown out the following night in New Jersey.

So as we look ahead to Week 8, the Sabres will have four games. It won’t get any easier for Buffalo as they take on the 15-3-1 New York Rangers tonight. The last time these two teams saw each other, New York spoiled the Sabres home opener as they beat Buffalo 5-1.

Up next, a meeting against the Blues in St. Louis. Going back to last year, Buffalo swept St. Louis. The Blues are having a good start to the season so it won’t be a walk in the park for the Sabres. It will be the first of two meetings between the teams this season.

Buffalo will then look to avenge their loss in their first loss of the month of November as they will be in Raleigh to battle the Hurricanes for the first game of December. It will not be an easy week for the Sabres at all and they will look to not lose to Carolina for the second time this year.

For the final game of the week, they will host the Nashville Predators. The Predators are in a similar spot like the Sabres record wise so we’ll see what transpires for the final game of Week 8. For my prediction, I have a feeling the Buffalo Sabres will go 1-3-0.

I got them losing to New York, St. Louis and Carolina but beating Nashville. This team is consistently inconsistent so we’ll see what happens.
