Looking ahead to Week 11 of the Buffalo Sabres 2023-24 season
What lies ahead of the Buffalo Sabres in Week 11? Here is a breakdown of their schedule and a prediction of how they will fare this week with three games.
Just as I predicted, the Buffalo Sabres went 2-2 in Week 10. For their only home game of the week, they defeated the Arizona Coyotes 5-2. Then the team headed out West for a three-game road trip. The first game was one to forget as they lost to the Colorado Avalanche 5-1.
It wouldn’t get any easier as they took on the defending Stanley Cup champions Vegas Golden Knights next. Buffalo showed a great effort as they pulled off the upset, winning 5-2. They couldn’t celebrate long because they had a back-to-back against Arizona once again.
They looked out of it from the start as a crucial mistake from Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen cost the team and lost 2-0. Turning the page to this week, the Sabres will have three games. On Tuesday, the Columbus Blue Jackets come to town.
Three games are in store for the Buffalo Sabres in Week 11
Columbus is in last place in their division with a record of 10-17-5. It will be the first time Buffalo sees Columbus, and who knows which version of the Sabres we will get with them being incredibly inconsistent? On Thursday night, it will be rivalry night as the Toronto Maple Leafs will be visiting Buffalo.
It’s the second meeting of the year between the two teams and the Sabres won the first meeting back in Toronto. To close out Week 11, the team will be in New York to square off against the Rangers.
It will be the third and final meeting of the season between Buffalo and New York with the season series evened up, so it will be a rubber match this Saturday night in Madison Square Garden. For my prediction, it’s a tough one.
Okay, it’s time to get bold. I am totally okay with fans laughing at this but I think Buffalo sweeps the week. I see them taking care of business against the Blue Jackets. It will be a tough battle the next two games but since they play well against good teams, let’s get bold and have them beating BOTH Toronto and New York. For what it’s worth, I’m not too confident they will sweep but why not? Let’s get crazy!
