The Buffalo Sabres desperately want to end their playoff drought, and they are hoping that with the players they have, they can get that done. The moves made this offseason have made it clear that they are not interested in building for the future but improving the team for the now.

However, as the season goes along, that sentiment might change, and the Sabres could be sellers at the trade deadline. There are a number of players that would be of interest for teams that are trying to contend or make a push for a playoff spot.

With that in mind, these are five players who could be on the move at some point this season, depending on how the season plays out.

Alex Tuch

Alex Tuch is one that Buffalo Sabres fans are paying close attention to as he is entering the final year of his contract. The hope for everyone involved is that the Sabres can reach a long-term extension in the coming weeks that will keep him in Buffalo past this season.

However, if he is still unsigned as the trade deadline approaches, he would probably be the best player that the Sabres would make available. If they are not able to come to terms on a new deal by this point, the focus is on trying to make sure they get some kind of value instead of having him leave in free agency.
