Buffalo Sabres vs. Toronto Maple Leafs (10/24)
Less than one week later is the next game and is a game that fans can usually get excited for. The Toronto Maple Leafs are the biggest rivalry the franchise has, and usually it is close to capacity as fans from Toronto come down for this game.
This is a game in which the Maple Leafs have something to prove as much as the Sabres as Toronto will want to get off to a fast start in the season and show they don't need Mitch Marner. It is not an easy task and the Sabres would love to play spoiler early in the season.
Buffalo Sabres vs. Utah Mammoth (11/4)
On November 4th, the Buffalo Sabres welcome the Utah Mammoth to KeyBank Center, and it will be the first game that J.J. Peterka is playing for the opposing team. The former second-round pick was traded this offseason by Buffalo to Utah and it certainly will have extra motivation for him to get the upper hand on his team.
However, the Sabres have players of their own in the same situation as Michael Kesserling and Josh Doan will be playing against their former team and similarly will have something to prove. The Mammoth are a team that is trying to get over the hump and into the playoffs which should make this is a competitive game between teams with the same aspirations.
