Rasmus Dahlin has been one of the best players on the Buffalo Sabres for a few seasons now and quickly is moving up the record books in the process. One of the milestones that Dahlin could reach this season is 100 career goals.

Over the past four seasons, Dahlin has been a double digit goal scorer each season and has seen that total bump up over the past two seasons with 37 goals over that span. He is entering this season with 83 career goals and if he scores 17 or more he will reach the career milestone of 100 goals.

In the process, he will move up the Sabres record books in the category as he is currently 49th but could finish the season 38th. If he reaches this milestone he would move ahead of Tyler Ennis who had 97 goals with the Sabres.

If Rasmus Dahlin scores 20 goals, he would pass Lindy Ruff in the Buffalo Sabres record books

Rasmus Dahlin has only scored 20 or more goals in a season once in his career but if he gets to that total again this season, he will be passing Lindy Ruff. The Sabres head coach was also a player for the team and had 102 career goals during that time.

Ruff spent 10 years with the Sabres primarily as a defenseman but also played some as a forward. However, he was never really known for a goal scorer with only five seasons scoring double digit goals with a career-high of 20 during the 1985-86 season.

It would be a great storyline to watch over the season if Dahlin can move past Ruff and have the second-most goals by a defenseman for the Sabres. He will have alot of work to do to move up to one as Phil Housley owns that record with 178 goals.
