After concluding 2024, the Buffalo Sabres will turn the page to 2025. In part of their road trip in St. Louis and Dallas, Buffalo will be in Colorado to see the Avalanche for the final time in 2024/2025. Two nights later, they will see Jack Eichel and the Vegas Golden Knights. Both Casey Mittelstadt and Eichel will play their former club during that two game span for the Sabres.
Buffalo will then come home for one game as the Washington Capitals come to town. Following a quick stop in Ottawa, the Sabres will then have a three game homestand. Up first, the Seattle Kraken who Buffalo finally defeated for the first time ever last season.
Following a few days off, the Sabres will host the Carolina Hurricanes
To wrap up the homestand, Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins will make their way into town. Once again, the Sabres will hit the road for a four game road trip. First, Buffalo heads to the Pacific Northwest as they will conclude their season series with the Kraken.
Then it's off to Western Canada. The following night, they will take on the Vancouver Canucks. Two nights later, it will be the Calgary Flames as the next opponent on the schedule. Before heading home, the Sabres will square off with the Western Conference champions Edmonton Oilers for a Saturday early evening matchup.
Wrapping up January, Buffalo will have two home games. They will welcome in the Boston Bruins before hosting the dangerous Nashville Predators who improved dramatically in the offseason. Looking at the schedule, it will be a gauntlet. With two trips on the Western side, the Sabres will have to manage their fatigue.
In the 13 games they will play in the month, eight of those opponents are against teams who were in the postseason last year.
