Looking ahead to Week 13 of the Buffalo Sabres 2023-24 season

It's officially 2024. At this current moment, the Buffalo Sabres are 15-19-4. They have 34 points and are sitting in second-to-last place in the Atlantic Division. If there's a time to turn the season around, it's this month.

Just like each week of the season for the most part, Week 12 was a tough one. It started out with a snoozer on home ice against the Boston Bruins in a 4-1 loss. The Sabres would welcome in the Columbus Blue Jackets for their final home game of 2023 and Buffalo got the 3-2 victory in overtime.

The following day, Buffalo lost a stinker as they lost to the Ottawa Senators 5-1 on New Years Eve. Turning the page to January and Week 13, the Sabres will only have two games which will both be on the road. Up first, a meeting with the Montreal Canadiens.

It will be the third meeting between the two Atlantic Division teams and Montreal has won the last two meetings, both of which were in Buffalo. The Sabres will look to flip the script against the Canadiens and hopefully Jeff Skinner can continue his domination against the Habs on Thursday night.

The Buffalo Sabres have just two games in Week 13 of 2023-24

For the second and final game of Week 13, Buffalo will be in Pittsburgh to take on Sidney Crosby and the Penguins. This will be the final of three meetings between Buffalo and Pittsburgh with each team getting one victory in the season series, so this game will be the rubber match.

For my prediction, it's honestly so hard to predict with this hockey team. You just never know which Sabres team you're going to get. Are you going to get the team where they look really good or the team who just looks flat and lays an egg? You just never know and that's the frustrating part.

For my prediction, I really hope they can turn it around. I'm not feeling confident in this prediction but I say they will win both games this week. I think they will have a comfortable win against the Canadiens and then win a tight one against the Penguins.
