The Chicago Blackhawks are in a rebuild and have been for a while now. Ever since the departures of Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews, they are building for the future with the addition of Connor Bedard and company. Looking at their unrestricted free agents for the Buffalo Sabres to sign, there isn't a name that really catches my eye or makes me go, "MUST SIGN".

However, there is a player who I think could help the Sabres in a department they've struggled in, face offs. That is why center Tyler Johnson is the player I want Buffalo to sign from Chicago. In 67 games played this season, Johnson scored 17 goals and registered 14 assists. Even though he was a -35 during the year, his worst plus/minus in his career, I don't think it's a red flag.

He was playing on one of the worst teams in the league, so that should not stop the Sabres to try and sign him. While he isn't the big name player he was in Tampa Bay, he would make a solid addition for Buffalo.

The 33-year-old had only three seasons where he had single digit goals. His experience is one reason why the Sabres should try to sign the forward. He's been in the league for 12 years and has won the Stanley Cup twice. His experience could help this young Sabres team to take the next step.

General manager Kevyn Adams did say he is looking to add a third line center this offseason and Johnson would be the perfect candidate. He won 44.4% of the face offs he took while Buffalo as a team won 45%.

At his age, I don't think he will ask for a crazy amount of money. The next team I will talk about is the Colorado Avalanche.
