Vote of confidence: Does the Sabres fanbase believe in Lindy Ruff?

There seems to be some uncertainty facing the Buffalo Sabres as the 2024/2025 regular season approaches. We are a month away from the season starting and in terms of the offseason, nothing really exciting happened. However, Buffalo will have a new leader as Lindy Ruff is back as Sabres head coach.

Ruff was brought back after general manager Kevyn Adams fired former coach Don Granato back in April. With that being said, how confident is the Sabres fan base that Ruff can turn things around? On Facebook, we asked you the fans how much faith you have in Lindy.

Here are some of those responses from a small group of Sabres fans

"I don't know about their record, but they'll be there to play every night. You play under Lindy or you get called out publicly, demoted, or benched. That being said, with a number one goalie, a tougher bottom 6 and a head coach that preaches defensive responsibility, there should be decent improvement." - Mark Hager

I completely agree with Mark. While we don't know how they will perform, we know that Lindy brings the best out of his players. The Sabres need a coach who will be hard on the players and that's one trait Ruff has.

"Yes! I'm predicting 100 points, a playoff berth, & getting past 1st round. It's doable!" - Dan Leonard

I'm not quite ready to say how Buffalo will do record wise, but with how good of a coach Lindy is, it wouldn't surprise me. He did it with the New Jersey Devils not too long ago. Hopefully that magic will transfer to Buffalo.

Faceoffs were a huge issue with Buffalo last year. Ryan McLeod should help with that but the bottom six is much improved from last season and those are the players Ruff needs on his team.

Overall, the fanbase is confident in Lindy. It was a small sample size but from that post, everyone who commented has faith in the Sabres coach. We won't know until the season progresses but I also have faith that Lindy can turn things around for this franchise.
