Jack Quinn has had an up and down career so far. After producing offensively, he suffered a couple of injuries that set him back. Fast forward to this season, it has been mostly sluggish for the Sabres first round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft. Recently however, it's been a different story.
In the last five games, Quinn has 9 points (4 goals + 5 assists) in that span. It's good to see but where has this been all season long? Whether it was related to his previous injuries or not playing with the right people, Jack has looked like a different player in March/April.
As I mentioned earlier, it's been a streaky campaign for Quinn. After registering a point or two, he would go the longest time without getting any points. It was an endless cycle up until mid March and going into early April. With that being said, can Jack finish the season strong and can it transition to next year?
I believe it's possible. Head coach Lindy Ruff has moved Quinn all around the lineup and unfortunately, nothing has worked out before this recent streak. Even on his old line with JJ Peterka and former Sabre Dylan Cozens, Jack was not having a ton of success.
Playing alongside Peterka and his new linemate Ryan McLeod could be the reason why he's been playing well as of late. Sometimes players just click with other teammates and that is the case with Quinn, Peterka and McLeod.
Can he keep it going to finish the season and build off for next year? I think he can. While the playoffs are most likely a longshot, Quinn can continue to play well and hopefully, he can transition into 2025-2026 the same way he's finishing this season.
If he can do that, it could benefit Buffalo in the long run as they hope to end this long and painful playoff drought.
