Rooting Interest
With the Buffalo Sabres out of the playoffs, it stands for reason that many people will end their hockey regiments, shave their playoff beards, and wait for the day when free agency opens up. Are you one of those fans that sits idly by now giving up on hockey until the Buffalo Sabres? In some respects, so am I. I will casually watch the Stanley Cup Finals for the amazing hockey that it represents, but I have to think long and hard…who is left that want to have a rooting interest for?
2011-2012 Eulogy
The Philadelphia Flyers showed up with passion last night, and the Buffalo Sabres came out and were severly outplayed and out chanced in a Game 7 that saw the Philadelphia Flyers advance in the Stanley Cup Playoffs and the Buffalo Sabres season come to an end. In a very close series that saw see saw action, two shutouts by Ryan Miller, a rotating door on the crease for the Flyers, and Briere, Richards, Hartnell, and Carcillo up to their dirty games. On the Sabres side of the house, the young guys continued to impress, while Mike Grier, Drew Stafford, Brad [...]
Knee-Jerk Reaction: Game 7
I’m writing this during the game because I’m pretty sure I won’t be in a mood to write after (win or lose). So it might be a bit more wishy washy than usual. [10:06 pm edit: hopefully you can have a bit of fun reading this, because that game sure wasn't one bit of fun]
A Factor Of Seven
Your Morning Sabres 4/26/11
Who would have thought that the prospect of this inebriated “bro” would have me so excited that he may be back tonight. I really have no problems with Derek Roy– actually I like Derek Roy, but these pictures always get me. Thankfully, the Chippewa strip shouldn’t have gotten Roy too fat and leathery; however, let’s hope that Roy can find his game fast because, well, the Sabres need him too. Lindy initially after the post game press conference of game six stated that Derek Roy will be ready to play; however, Ruff has recently recanted his statement and replaced [...]
Your Morning Sabres 4/25/2011
So, this is essentially how I feel as of late. I’ve been swamped at work and at home, but I wanted to show that I still am here and basically having a heart attack each and every damn game I’ve been watching. Unfortunately I don’t have too much time to talk this morning seeing as I have to work 10 hour days this week so I can return to face my “X-Men” like origin story at my old college this weekend. I am pretty psyched about Derek Roy making a return– we’ll see if he can continue his point-per-game production, [...]
Derek Roy to Skate in Game 7
As Dan pointed out the Buffalo Sabres have never won a game seven. Not the type of odds you want to take into a game seven against the Philadelphia Flyers. The good news is the Sabres are 2-1 in Philly during these playoffs. I have to agree with Dan, despite not seeing the hit, if Richards got two minutes, as much as it would help the Buffalo Sabres cause – if the hit was what it was, he has spelled his two minutes.
Knee-Jerk Reaction: Game 6
Peter Laviolette is a witch. Ryan Miller is failing with a B average. Danny Briere might just be worth $5 million, Tom Golisano. All this and more…
Sabres Headed Back to Philadelphia
There is nothing better in professional sports than a game seven in the Stanley Cup playoffs. Your either going to advance (or win the Cup) or go home empty handed. The Buffalo Sabres and Philadelphia Flyers are going to face each other in a game seven for the first time ever in a game seven scenario on Tuesday night. And its a game seven that should have never happened.
