The Buffalo Sabres made the yearly FanSided 250 list. We break down where they ranked amongst the sports and entertainment industry’s biggest names.

Well, it’s that time of year again. FanSided just dropped their yearly FanSided 250 list and our beloved Buffalo Sabres made an appearance. This is the biggest project FanSided puts out each year and it is great to see Buffalo on the list.

For those of you that do not know what the FanSided 250 is, let me explain. It is a list of the top 250 fandoms of the year. It covers fandoms from all sports, entertainment, individual athletes, fan bases, celebrities, and pretty much anything else in between. The order of the list is discussed and voted on by readers and influencers.

Fandom is defined by Oxford Languages as “the state or condition of being a fan of someone or something.” Buffalo knows as well as anyone that fans in their city are some of the most passionate in the country, and the Sabres definitely have some of the best fans in all of hockey.

So where did the Sabres rank on this year’s list? Buffalo slotted in at 241 out of 250. This is good enough to be the 18th highest ranked NHL team on the list. The Sabres narrowly ranked higher than the Vancouver Canucks and Montreal Canadiens. We also ranked directly behind the New York Rangers, Colorado Avalanche, and New Jersey Devils.

Now I know this may seem low, but we have to remember that Buffalo is one of the smallest market NHL teams. So being ranked among some of the bigger market teams in the league like Montreal, New Jersey, and the New York Rangers just goes to show how passionate the Sabres faithful is. Just because Buffalo is considered a small market team, it does not mean it has to feel like a small market team.

Next. The Buffalo Sabres ECHL affiliate will not play this season. dark

As the season gets closer, I know that Sabres fans will make sure that they are heard, even without being able to fill KeyBank center. This year’s team could be the most exciting the Sabres have had in years. If the team lives up to the hype, the fans will too.
