The Buffalo Sabres have a young core of both forwards and defensive players capable of helping the franchise end their decade-long playoff drought.

Earlier, we discussed the five Buffalo Sabres‘ defensemen to keep an eye on in the NHL, AHL, and college ranks. Today, we’re discussing five forwards in the system whose names you need to know. Some have already seen expanded playing time at the NHL level. Others are making their presence felt in the AHL.

Others have made cameo appearances for the Sabres or the team at least called them up to the “taxi squad” when injuries and COVID-19 hit them hard. Regardless of their current situation, odds are that they will make greater contributions to the franchise sooner than later.

And given their young age, when they reach the top level, they can become franchise cornerstones for years to come. Here are five forwards aged 23 or under bound to help the Buffalo Sabres in the near future.
