The Buffalo Sabres will sell at the trade deadline. But some veterans will stay in the blue and gold until the end of the season.

The Buffalo Sabres won’t move every veteran at the trade deadline as part of their continual building process. But that doesn’t mean they will be around next season. The Sabres have built a solid foundation of young talent and they will only look to get younger by the time October 2022 rolls around.

So expect them to part ways with veterans they won’t be able to sell at the deadline. And while these players could hold value to other NHL franchises, they don’t hold as much value to a team looking to build for the future.

Who will the team cut ties with in the offseason? Players with larger cap figures who either underperformed or spent extended time on injured reserve. Here are three names that won’t be around by the time the puck drops in October 2022.
