The Buffalo Sabres square off against the Vancouver Canucks, riding a wave of momentum following two upset wins over potential playoff contenders.

The Buffalo Sabres looked like a team on a mission during Thursday night’s big win over the Calgary Flames. The Flames, undefeated at the time, could not mount a comeback against a Sabres team whose goaltending has thus far been top notch.

Now, the Sabres head over to Vancouver, where the 0-3-2 Canucks are still searching for their first win. To be honest, these are the kinds of games I don’t like. The Sabres, 3-1-0, face the pressure of playing an inferior opponent, and these are what you call potential trap games. Will the Sabres avoid the trap? Keep reading for more.

Buffalo Sabres vs. Canucks Prediction – Game 5

The Sabres are a young team and everything seems to be clicking for them, but the Canucks are going to come in motivated to show that they are a better team than they’ve been during the season’s early stages. The Sabres are young and less experienced, yet everything has been going their way.

And it makes you wonder when the inevitable off-day will approach. The Sabres are also not without their flaws. They’ve been outshot and outmuscled twice, forcing goaltender Eric Comrie to put up 40-plus saves on back-to-back nights.

The Sabres may have scored more goals, but this success is not sustainable at the moment. I’m going with a Canucks win, 4-2 in this one, and the loss will be a learning experience for the Sabres. Well, hopefully, the loss will show them that they can’t solely rely on their goaltending to bail them out of seemingly every game.
