The Buffalo Sabres have a brewing dynamic duo comprising rookies Jack Quinn and J.J. Peterka – and they are growing more productive by the week.

Jack Quinn and J.J. Peterka may only have 25 points in a combined 43 contests, but don’t let those numbers fool you. As rookies, they are naturally not going to be as productive as the likes of Tage Thompson, Jeff Skinner, Alex Tuch, and Dylan Cozens.

This duo, however, ever since flanking Dylan Cozens on the second line, has grown even more productive, and they will mold into one of the NHL’s more dangerous lines in time. And they are already serviceable as it is.

Buffalo Sabres wingers Jack Quinn and J.J. Peterka are just getting started

On Wednesday night, Jack Quinn sunk the game-winning penalty shot, giving the Buffalo Sabres their second victory of the season against the Detroit Red Wings. The goal was one fit for the highlight reel, and you can expect to see plenty more from Quinn, who has 12 points in 19 contests, including five in the Sabres last five.

Peterka has 13 points on the year in 24 outings, including an incredible goal last night that tied the game at one midway through the first period. Quinn provided one of the two helpers on that goal, with Cozens also providing the assist.

Be prepared, because you are going to see more of this as the 2022-23 NHL Season moves on. While I don’t believe neither Quinn nor Peterka will gain much traction for the Calder Trophy, you will see their overall scoring output increase with more experience on the Cozens line.

The duo has continued the trend that made them so dangerous in the NHL, and as early as next season, you could see them putting up more than just solid numbers. Just as we’ve seen Dylan Cozens breakout with time, the same thing will happen to Jack Quinn and J.J. Peterka.
