The Buffalo Sabres can get themselves back on track this upcoming week. So what can we expect in this week’s slate of games?

After dropping a hard fought game at the hands of the Colorado Avalanche, the Buffalo Sabres will look to turn the page. It’s a new week and a new opportunity for the team to get themselves back on track. The team will have four games this week and on paper, they can get themselves to .500 or better.

Up first, the San Jose Sharks tonight. Not only will Buffalo face old pal Aaron Dell tonight, but they will also be facing a team going through a tough time. The Sharks are 8-15-4 and are second to last place in their division. You cannot take any team lightly, but the Sabres should be able to win this game.

I know they lost to the Arizona Coyotes but if they are smart and play the way fans expected them to play like, then they should be victorious tonight. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen is expected to be in net and Jacob Bryson will be back in the lineup.

Buffalo Sabres are well rested for their tilt with San Jose, Columbus

Buffalo will have a couple of days off before heading to Columbus for a meeting with the Blue Jackets on Wednesday night. Even with the huge addition of Johnny Gaudreau in the offseason, the Jackets are 8-12-2 and are sitting in dead last in the Metropolitan division.

Again, you can’t overlook any team but the Sabres should be able to win this one as well. Buffalo is 10-13-1 and even though they have a bad record, I think it’s a bit misleading. Yes I know they have been blowing leads and being undisciplined, but they are a young team with talent. It’s up to them to go out there and perform well.

To wrap up the weekend, Buffalo will have a home and home, back to back against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday and Saturday night. The Penguins are 13-8-4 so it will definitely be a tougher test for the Sabres. However, they did defeat the Pens earlier on and I think they split the two games.
