The Buffalo Sabres put up six goals in a win over the Pittsburgh Penguins roughly 40 days ago, so will they see the same results this time?

The Buffalo Sabres are squaring off against the Pittsburgh Penguins in a back to back, with Game 1 coming in the Queen City. And while the Sabres have beaten the Penguins two times in a row dating back to last year, Pittsburgh will always be a tough team for as long as Sidney Crosby decides to play.

Therefore, the Sabres, per the usual when they play the Penguins, will work to earn this W if they do come out on top. And this time around, the Blue and Gold must play 60 solid minutes of hockey.

Buffalo Sabres vs. Penguins Odds – Game 27

Buffalo Sabres vs. Penguins Prediction – Game 27

The Sabres can score, but so can the Penguins, who rank 10th in the league with 93 goals. Given Buffalo’s vulnerability to allow a plethora of goals, this game is going to be a shootout, and it could come down to whoever scores the last goal.

This is a game where the Penguins have the experience battle won, so therefore, I’m saying they take it in an all-out offensive affair 7-6. Hopefully I’m wrong, but the Sabres are still an up and down team, mostly down against playoff-caliber franchises. And as the NHL’s youngest team, that is more than expected.

Overall, the Penguins get the nod in this one, but the Sabres could redeem themselves tomorrow night when the two groups square off in Pittsburgh. Yes, even in an arena that will predominantly feature black and gold, the Sabres will have a chance, but tonight’s game may be a little out of reach.
