The Buffalo Sabres have been one of the better teams in the league as of late, but things don’t get easy thanks to a Week 10 gauntlet.

What a week it’s been for Buffalo sports. The Buffalo Bills clinched a playoff spot in a thriller against the Miami Dolphins, the Buffalo Bandits won their first game of the season and the Buffalo Sabres are over .500 for the first time since November. Focusing on the Sabres though, the month of December has been very friendly to Buffalo.

The Sabres are 5-2-1 so far in the month of December and are currently riding a three game winning streak. At this current moment, the Sabres are only five points out of a playoff spot. It’s crazy to think the Sabres are playing well after a rough November but here we are.

After winning all three games last week, the team will have only two games this upcoming week before the Christmas break. Tomorrow night, the team will head to Vegas to wrap up the three game road trip and will have a few days off until they host Tampa Bay on Friday night for the last game before the break.

A mini-gauntlet awaits the Buffalo Sabres

Even though it will be a short week, it will be a small gauntlet for the Sabres. Up first is the Golden Knights. Last time Buffalo saw Vegas, Jack Eichel had himself a night against his old team. Even though we don’t know if Jack will be playing or not, Vegas will be a tough test for the Sabres. They are the best team in the West and will look to stop Buffalo’s winning streak.

Before Christmas, the Sabres will have one more game and it will be against the Lightning. So far this season, Tampa has beaten Buffalo in all of their matchups. The Lightning have always been a thorn in the side of Buffalo but then again, the Sabres are not the only team who have been terrorized by Tampa.

It will be a tough two games for Buffalo but if they want to keep this winning streak going, what better way to continue it against two elite teams.
