The Buffalo Sabres have made their respective presence known in the 2023 IIHF World Championship, and the trend continued today.

Once again, members of the Buffalo Sabres shined at the 2023 IIHF World Championship. Yesterday, we were talking up Devon Levi, and today, it’s all about Jack Quinn. While Levi enjoyed a well-deserved break with Sam Montembeault manning the net, Team Canada still found itself in a goaltenders’ duel with Team Slovakia.

Neither goaltender allowed more than one, and the game eventually ended in a shoot-out. You know what probably happened then, right? Yep, you guessed it, Jack Quinn skated up and did what he does very well, scoring the game-winning goal for Canada. Want to see the goal for yourself? Check it out!

Of course, this isn’t the first time Jack Quinn’s fared well in shoot-outs. During the regular season, Quinn had an epic goal to ice the game against the Detroit Red Wings on November 30th last season.  Quinn also had a shoot-out goal on April 6th, helping the Sabres sweep Detroit amidst a heated playoff race.

Quinn is one of those players you’ll be interested in watching next year, now that he has a full season under his belt. His overall game improved, and he’s been showing off those improvements thus far in the IIHF Worlds, something you can expect to continue as the tournament heats up.

Overall, it’s been great to see numerous Buffalo Sabres making an impact for their respective countries at the IIHF Worlds, from Quinn, to Levi, and to Alex Tuch of Team USA. At this point, the question boasts, “Which Sabre will make their presence known in a big way next?” Something tells me we won’t need to wait too long to find out.
