One game Buffalo Sabres fans MUST look forward to in October: Part I
In this new miniseries, Zach’s taking one Buffalo Sabres game for each month of the 2023-24 season, and telling you why he’s looking forward to it.
We are in September, which means the Buffalo Sabres will be playing hockey in one month. After a pretty good season last year, the Sabres will be getting some action on national television as they will be on 15 nationally televised games this year.
With that being said, I thought I would pick one game from each month of the 2023-24 season and tell you why I am looking forward to it. Whether it’s rivalry games, storylines or tough matchups, each month will have one.
So without further ado, let’s get started! In October, the Sabres will have nine games to kick off the season. For the game I’m looking forward to, it’s the home-opener against the New York Rangers. There’s a couple of reasons why I’m looking forward to this game.
The one game Buffalo Sabres fans MUST look forward to in October
First and foremost, it’s the home-opener. Not to mention it’s the first game of the regular season, but it will be at home. Home-openers are always fun because it gives the fans their first glance at the team.
It won’t be easy however as the Sabres will face a very good group. The Rangers are one of the best teams in the NHL but it will be a great first test for Buffalo as I expect them to take the next step this season.
Going back to last year, Buffalo and New York had a very entertaining season series. In the three games they played last year, each needed more than 60 minutes to determine a winner and Buffalo took two of the three matchups.
Both teams put on a show and left both fanbases on the edge of their seats. So, in conclusion, I’m looking forward to this game because it’s the home-opener and it’s against a team who is very good. I am very stoked to see what happens on October 12th.
