The month of March is very important to teams jockeying for playoff positioning. Here are predictions for the Buffalo Sabres in March 2024.

We are finally projecting one of the most important months in hockey, the month of March. After February 2024, I’m predicting the Buffalo Sabres will be in the thick of things when it comes to the playoff race. It will be a busy month as the Sabres will play 15 games.

Up first, Jack Eichel and the Vegas Golden Knights will be coming to town. In what will be a close game, I think the Knights take this one. The Sabres won’t have any time to recover as the Winnipeg Jets will be in Buffalo the day after.

I see the Sabres rebounding this one despite a back to back situation. After a few days off, the team will have another back to back but this time on the road. They will be in Toronto for a nationally televised game against the Maple Leafs.

Buffalo Sabres could have an up-and-down first half of March 2024

In this game which will need an overtime or shootout, I got Buffalo getting the victory here. The following night, they will be in Nashville where I have them getting the two points. Two days later, they will welcome Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers to town.

Unfortunately, Edmonton will win this Saturday matinee. It will be a three game homestand for the Sabres as they will host the Detroit Red Wings next. I predict the Red Wings winning this one in overtime or a shootout.

For the final game on the homestand, the New York Islanders will be in town. Buffalo will lose this one as well but in regulation. To close out the first half, the Sabres will see the Red Wings again but this time in Detroit.

I got the Sabres closing out the first half of March as they avenge Detroit with a victory. Heading into the second half of March, I predict the Buffalo Sabres to have 80 points in what will be a very entertaining playoff race.
