Buffalo Sabres goaltender Devon Levi is practicing with the team once again, and on Tuesday, we saw the Goathead helmet for the first time.

Just a few weeks ago, we saw Buffalo Sabres goalie Devon Levi’s helmet that matched with the team’s primary blue and gold look, and it screamed Jedi. But, Levi’s Goathead helmet may be the better of the two, and it’s something you can check out in the video clip below.

For one, I love the alternate logo on the side of the helmet, but what really strikes me are what looks like two red lightsaber blades jetting up the middle and over the top. Also, on the other side of the helmet, we got the Sabres primary logo, and above it, some lightning bolts that we could call Force lightning.

Buffalo Sabres goaltender’s helmet for the Goatheads is nothing short of EPIC

If Levi gets the nod vs. the Philadelphia Flyers at home this week, we will see him rocking the Goathead helmet in a game for the first time this season, as the Sabres are set to wear their black and red jerseys again. And if Buffalo can win that game, they will improve to 3-0-0 in the Goathead look, and 13-1-1 since they brought them back as an alternate last season.

Unfortunately, their only regulation loss in the uniform came vs. the Flyers this past January, and it was a 4-0 blowout in which the Sabres allowed a staggering three goals in the first period. But, since their last home game with the Goatheads was a statement win over the Colorado Avalanche, perhaps fate will smile down on them once again.

We won’t know who will start in the Buffalo Sabres net that night until Friday. But if Levi makes his return then, keep an eye out for what is yet another must-see helmet.
