Alex Tuch is the biggest name on the Buffalo Sabres injury report for Week 10, so will he return to action for a pivotal slate of games?

Alex Tuch last played on December 3rd when he went down with a lower body injury that immediately looked like it had something to do with the hamstring. While hamstring injuries can take time to heal, it looks like Tuch will return to the lineup in Week 10 since Mike Harrington of Buffalo News reported the winger was part of the morning skate earlier today. Also, head coach Don Granato said the following:

"“I would suspect it’s sooner than later. Meaning there’s high potential for the next game after he gets a couple skates in, the way he felt today.”"

Tuch’s return this week will be huge for the Sabres, as they will face the Colorado Avalanche and Vegas Golden Knights later this week. Although he appeared in just 22 games this season, Tuch has 17 points, eight goals, and nine assists, so he’s once again establishing himself as one of the Sabres leading scorers and better impact players.

Buffalo Sabres are still without Jordan Greenway and Zemgus Girgensons

With no Jordan Greenway and Zemgus Girgensons, the Sabres aren’t just turning to Eric Robinson, but also Brett Murray, who will make his first appearance with the Blue and Gold in nearly two seasons, as this embed on X shows us, once again via Mike Harrington.

As you can see, Murray will likely see time on the Tyson Jost line while Robinson once again takes over for Girgensons at left wing on the Krebs line. There are still no clear-cut updates regarding Greenway and Girgensons at this point, so we will need to wait and see if there is more information available later in the week.

We at Sabre Noise will keep tabs on Greenway and Girgensons and will update this post accordingly. But for tonight, neither of the duo nor Tuch will be dressing. The Buffalo Sabres will need to make the most they can without them at least against Arizona.

Tuesday evening update: All signs point to Alex Tuch returning on Wednesday vs. the Colorado Avalanche while goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen also looks like he’s ready to roll. Mattias Samuelsson was also added to the list of injuries and it remains to be seen if he will return during the road trip.
