Through the first three games of the series, the Buffalo Sabres and Boston Bruins have been pretty even on the scoreboard. However, that was due in large part to Bruins' goalie Jeremy Swayman, but on Sunday afternoon, the Sabres finally were able to get past him to the tune of six goals and secure a 6-1 win.

After giving up that sixth goal in the third period, the Bruins elected to make a change in net. As Swayman was coming off the ice, it was clear, even if you couldn't see his face, that he was not happy with his teammates on the bench. The broadcast caught him pointing to his teammates and saying something before leaving down the tunnel.

Buffalo Sabres forecheck helped spark the four-goal first period

It is easy to understand why Swayman was as upset as he was. The Sabres' forecheck was all over the Bruins in the first period, and they forced 10 giveways just in the first 20 minutes. It helped set up the goals, particularly by Zach Benson and Bowen Byram, that really put the game out of reach.

In the series, the Sabres have clearly won the offensive battle, and the only reason the games have been close is because of Swayman. He has been excellent in net and, through the first three games, averaged 33.67 shots on net and had a save percentage of .931.

Even in Game 4, after being pulled with around 15 minutes left in the third period, he faced more shots on goal (29) than Alex Lyon faced all game (24).

The Buffalo Sabres have a chance to clinch the series on Tuesday night, and they need to be prepared for a motivated Jeremy Swayman. The Bruins are going to need him to if they hope to extend this series to Game 6 and back to Boston.
