Following November, the Buffalo Sabres will turn the page to the final month of 2024. To start December, the Sabres will have a five-game home stand. Up first, Casey Mittelstadt will return to Buffalo as the Colorado Avalanche will make their way into KeyBank Center. Mittelstadt will be back in Buffalo for the first time since he got traded before the trade deadline last year.
The Winnipeg Jets will soar their way into Buffalo next two days later. After Winnipeg, the Sabres will welcome in the Utah Hockey Club for the first time every on a Saturday matinee. Then it will be the Detroit Red Wings as hometown boy Patrick Kane will be in town before the Sabres close out the home stand against the New York Rangers.
Following two days off, the Sabres will square off against the Washington Capitals
Then the following week, it will divisional week. Washington was the first of a three game road trip as the team will visit their rivals the Toronto Maple Leafs the following evening. Closing out the trip, Buffalo will be in Montreal.
Yet again, the Sabres will have another back-to-back. They will host the Maple Leafs before heading to Boston for their meeting of the year against the Bruins. The blue and gold will finish 2024 with four games, three of those on the road.
Before the Christmas break, Buffalo will meet the New York Islanders. Their final home game of 2024 will be four days later as they host the Chicago Blackhawks. For the last two games, the blue and gold take on the St. Louis Blues and Dallas Stars on the road.
It will be a 14-game stretch for Buffalo in December, against some challenging teams as well. I am definitely looking forward to seeing Mittelstadt returning as well as two games against Toronto in five days.
