On June 28th, the 2024 NHL Draft will be getting underway. The Buffalo Sabres will be on the clock with the 11th overall pick and many have wondered what Buffalo will do. One prospect that has been linked to the team is left winger Cole Eiserman.

Eiserman is considered a top prospect and has garnered much attention since declaring for the draft. He has been on the USA Hockey National Team Development Program (NTDP) since 2022. Cole has also scored at least 25 goals in both seasons in the program.

Both his work ethic and shooting talent have been mentioned as strong indicators of his prospect status for the draft. However, his defensive ability has been considered a weakness when teams determine if he'll be worth a high selection.

NHL.com and the Athletic have linked the left winger to Buffalo with the 11th pick. NHL.com's deputy managing editor Adam Kimelman gave his thoughts on the possible pick for Eiserman.

"Some believe he can round out his game",Kimelman said. He added that Eiserman could develop his offensive instincts and become more of a threat as a playmaker. "He'll play at least one season at Boston University trying to expand his game. If he can, Eiserman (6-foot, 195) has the chance to be one of the top players in the 2024 draft class."

The Hockey Writers have also linked Buffalo to Eiserman. This though, is the possibility of trading the pick to the New York Islanders for their chances to draft the prospect. If they do trade the pick, look for Buffalo to gain at least a third line center or more capital for the rest of the draft.

The draft is an exciting time for both the Sabres and Eiserman. He could be a valuable pickup or add more value if another team is looking to nab him. Either way, his name should be linked to Buffalo on June 28th and the rest of the 2024 offseason.
