The Buffalo Sabres haven’t impressed us over the past 13 seasons, but it doesn’t mean the fanbase won’t be interested in watching them attempt to break that streak come October. While some fans may look to attend games in-person at KeyBank Center, many more will prefer to watch the Blue and Gold in action from home, and the best way to do so is on the MSG Network, MSG+, or the new Gotham Sports App.

If you’re instead looking to stream the games, fuboTV is a great option as they will play local contests, plus nationally-televised games on the NHL Network and other outlets.

fuboTV has live NHL games on ESPN which you can stream from your phone, television, and all your favorite devices. This is a service that broadcasts live TV over the internet, no cable is required. Watch your favorite teams, network shows, news, and movies on 100+ channels. Plus on-demand entertainment including full TV series. fuboTV is currently available in the United States, Canada, and Spain.

If you’re an out of market fan, apps like ESPN+ are your best bet, as they won’t just play the Sabres, but you’ll also have access to all 32 NHL teams as long as you don’t live in the same market as that particular team.

Why the Sabres will be worth tuning into for 2024-25

If you’re not fond of the way the Sabres have been playing lately and you’re looking for a few reasons to tune in this year, there are still several. Perhaps the return of Lindy Ruff is the biggest talking point here, and as he’s still the last coach to lead the Sabres to the postseason.

There should also be a few Sabres looking to prove their respective worth this season, like Alex Tuch and Tage Thompson, both of whom performed below expectations in 2023-24. Owen Power will be looking to make a big jump, and Rasmus Dahlin should have his eyes set on scoring yet another personal best in goals.

Of course, there’s also Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen looking to prove to the league that he can carry over his newfound success into and throughout the new season. Plus, the Sabres got some hard-hitters now filling the lower lines, along with a speedster in Ryan McLeod, and up-and-comers like Zach Benson, JJ Peterka, and Jack Quinn.

No, the Sabres haven’t impressed anyone in NHL circles since 2010-11, except for a surprising yet short-lived run here and there. But that narrative can change in 2024-25 under Lindy Ruff and what should be a hard-hitting team with a bit of urgency.
