Looking ahead to Week 14 of the Buffalo Sabres 2023-24 season

On a very rare occurrence for me, I actually got a prediction right. Week 13 was good for me and the Buffalo Sabres. They blew out the Montreal Canadiens 6-1 last Thursday night and then beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-1 on Saturday night thanks to an awesome performance from Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen.

After winning two games in a row for the first time in what seemed to be forever ago, the Buffalo Sabres will look to build off a good Week 13. For the next two weeks, Buffalo will be at home for what will be a six game homestand, with three of those games occurring in Week 14.

Up first, a meeting with the team Buffalo has never beaten, the Seattle Kraken. After a rocky start to the season, Seattle is currently 16-14-9 with 41 points and sitting in fifth place in the Pacific Division. Like I just mentioned, Buffalo has yet to beat Seattle as they are 0-4 against the Kraken. What better way to start the week off right and keep the momentum going than beating the newest NHL franchise?!

Two days later, Buffalo will welcome in the Ottawa Senators. The last time these two teams saw each other was on the final day of 2023 as the Senators defeated Buffalo 5-1. Ottawa is currently below Buffalo in the standings but both of these teams are similar in the aspect of being young and trying to dig out of a hole.

Buffalo Sabres will face some rough competition for each game in Week 14

To wrap up the week, it will be the Vancouver Canucks coming to town for a Saturday matinee. After a rough few years, the Canucks are one of the best teams in the NHL as they are currently at the top of the Pacific Division. The Sabres will have to be ready as Vancouver has tons of talent and will definitely present a challenge.

For my prediction, I don't think the Sabres go undefeated his week but it will be a good one for them. I think they will beat Seattle and Ottawa, but will lose the game against Vancouver. If Buffalo hopes to get their season back on track, having a good two week homestand will help and it starts in Week 14.
