All 12 countries were allowed to name six players who will be on their Olympic roster in 2026, and Rasmus Dahlin leads the way for Sweden going forward.

Defenseman Rasmus Dahlin will represent Sweden at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milano-Cortina, Italy, the Federation announced Monday. The list featured the first six players from each of the 12 countries qualified for men’s hockey at the upcoming Olympics.

Each player will need confirmation from his country’s Olympic Committee before joining the Olympic roster. This will be Dahlin’s second Olympic Games, as he played two games at the 2018 Olympics in PyeongChang.

He played at the IIHF World Championship in 2022 and 2024, recording 16 points (4+12) across 18 total games. Most recently, this February, Dahlin played for Sweden at the 4 Nations Face-Off in Montreal and Boston. He played each of Sweden’s three games and scored one goal during the tournament.

Dahlin wasn’t treated very well during the 4-Nations Face-Off this past February, as he saw no time on the power play or penalty kill and didn’t play in either of the overtime games. Dahlin played well when paired with Gus Forsling of the Florida Panthers, but was arguably benched for the longer-tenured players on the Swedish team.

Joining Dahlin among the players named to Sweden's Olympic roster are forwards Lucas Raymond (Detroit Red Wings), Gabriel Landeskog (Colorado Avalanche), William Nylander (Toronto Maple Leafs), and Adrian Kempe (Los Angeles Kings), as well as defenseman Victor Hedman (Tampa Bay Lightning).

Since entering the league, the former first-overall pick ranks eighth among Swedish NHL players with 360 points. Dahlin’s 360 points rank second to Victor Hedman’s 430 among Swedish defensemen.

Dahlin has represented the Sabres well during his time with the team and his time playing internationally. With the Olympic Games as an opportunity to show the world the sport and team you represent, I have no doubt Dahlin will make his mark and have a breakout campaign with Sweden.
